Who killed Miss Watson? This burning question, along with several other White Pine Bay mysteries will be uncovered in Season 2 of “Bates Motel.” The show starring, Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore returns for its highly anticipated second season on March 3, and following the series’ shocking Season 1 finale, fans of the A&E series are clamoring for some answers. Luckily, the Season 2 premiere “Gone But Not Forgotten” will pick up where in the heat of the tourist summer left of. Despite temperatures heating up and unknown visitors arriving in the picturesque town, resident won’t be able to move on from the bone chilling murder of Miss Watson. According to TV Guide, one resident in particular is still reeling from the effects of her murder—Norman. The teen draws suspicions from the small town due to his seemingly outlandish behavior while tears are considered normal at a funeral, Norman couldn’t help himself from “sobbing” during the ceremony. His obsessive behavior over the loss of Miss Watson continues well after her burial, Norman continually visits her grave, leaving his neighbors with an uneasy feeling. This uneasy feeling regarding Norman and Miss Watson is nothing new, the Season 1 finale showed the odd nature of the relationship between the pair. While nothing explicitly sexual occurred, Miss Watson certainly had tender feelings for Norman. After taking her student back to her home to was up and calm down, Miss Watson herself changed out of her clothes. However, while most teachers and older women would opt on the side of caution with a young seemingly troubled teen in her house, Miss Watson freely undressed with her bedroom door ajar, revealing herself to her student.

After this tension infused scene, Norman is sent into a tailspin oscillating between reality and his hallucinations. Before running ferociously home to the hotel in the rain, Norman imagines a passionate fight with his mother, where she accuses Miss Watson of wanting to seduce her son. After this dizzying sequence, audiences caught a glimpse of Miss Watson’s now dead body on the floor. Keeping with the series theme of Norman blacking out and committing violent acts, fans where convinced that the teen had murdered his teacher in a psychotic fit of rage. However, new spoilers for Season 2 reveal that Norman is not the killer, and unfortunately for the residents in White Pine Bay there is a new villain in town. TV Guide reported, “even though it's easy to assume that Norman killed Miss Watson during one of his blackouts, the new season quickly reveals that someone else in town may have had a pretty strong motive.” But is Norman isn’t the killer, who is it? One theory is that Miss Watson’s killer was once her lover. A&E recently released a promo video for Season 2, however the clip was actually a flashback to Season 1, when everyone’s favorite high school was hosting a celebratory dance. The clip revealed that before the dance, Miss Watson was hosting someone in her home, the pair engaged in a passionate sex romp that was creepily filmed by the unknown lover. IBTimes reported that the unknown lover could be Bradley’s high school aged boyfriend, Richard Slymore. Considering Richard’s age, the secret nature of the relationship between Miss Watson and lover would make sense. In addition Richard would have a motive for killing Miss Watson, after seeing him with his known rival Norman. A lover scorned is certainly a top suspect!
