Bárbara Bermudo has been enjoying family life since her abrupt exit from Univision. The 41-year-old journalist has kept a low-profile and not addressed publicly the reasons why she was let from the the Spanish-language network. For days she had been teasing a message that coincided with International Women's Day and many speculated that she would finally break her silence and talk about being cut from "Primer Impacto" with no formal goodbye to all of her viewers that followed her for years. Instead, Bermudo delivered a powerful message to empower women and kicking off the "Yo Soy Más" campaign.
"That for being a women you don't have the capacity to better yourself," she says in the video. "You are not a common woman, you have been created by God to do extraordinary things. Who said you couldn't make a change? Today I want to tell you that you can." She further said in the video, "My parents taught me that there would be obstacles, but with the hand of God, everything is possible."
The video is labeled as "Part 1," which suggests there will be another video that will further explain what Bermudo is trying to promote. Either way, her words are much neeeded for those that need inspiration and motivation to continue fighting for their dreams. If Bárbara Bermudo announces a motivational speech tour, count us in!
