Juan Pablo Galavis. A name that transcends international barriers. This hot Venezuelan will become the first Latino Bachelor or Bachelorette in the franchise's history. There have been a total of nine Bachelorettes, and Juan Pablo is the 17th Bachelor in 18 seasons -- as Brad Womack starred on the show twice. This 32-year-old was born in New York, but grew up in Venezuela where he became a professional soccer player before retiring in 2009 and moving to Miami with his daughter, Camila, who is now four years old. Juan Pablo was sent home by Desiree on "The Bachelorette" Season 9, episode 6. However, host Chris Harrison said at the "After The Final Rose" special, that no one has made such a commotion as Juan Pablo.
"In the history of this show, no guy has made a greater impact with less screen time," he said, so choosing him meant higher ratings for the show, and reaching a broader audience, since more Latinos will be interested in watching the upcoming season that starts January 2014. After months of waiting, ABC finally released the first official photo of Juan Pablo as the bachelor. With his rugged good looks and sexy Spanish accent, Juan Pablo will be quite the prize for this reality show's contestants, especially because according to producers the sexy Venezuelan hopes he will quickly settle down and start a family with his final pick -- after all, his young daughter has been hoping for a new brother or sister.
"I'm going to find hopefully the person who is going to join me and my daughter. That's what I'm looking for." He told Harrison soon after he announced Juan Pablo was the next Bachelor. "That mom for [my daughter] Camila and someone I can spend many years [with] together," he added. And now, we've got some scoop on the ladies that are stealing the soccer star's heart. As Wetpaint reports, they caught what could be the final six bachelorettes soaking up the sun in Miami Beach. They confirmed that one of the final contenders is 26-year-old assistant DA Andi Dorfman. They also added that it appears that 32-year-old single parent and fellow Florida resident Renee Oteri may also be part of the group. According to Wetpaint, this season of "The Bachelor" promises a lot of beautiful and exotic locations. They start the show in Agoura Hills, California, then later move to Salt Lake City, then South Korea, Vietnam and New Zealand, and of course, the women enjoyed Juan Pablo's hometown, Miami. It is reported that after the ladies' visit to Miami, the new bachelor eliminated two, and later this week they will begin the hometown dates.
