A popular baby brand is facing backlash for allegedly demanding an influencer return a gifted bassinet following the death of her baby.

Brooklyn Larsen, a content creator, reportedly agreed to post content of her newborn in a bassinet Happiest Baby sent her. However, she failed to produce the agreed-upon content when her son was stillborn. According to Larsen's sister, the company then allegedly sent multiple emails insisting on the product's return.

As news of the incident spread on social media, users have criticized the brand for a lack of empathy. "It's all business for brands like this, you know?" Larsen's sister wrote in condemnation of the company. "I'm absolutely disgusted by a BABY brand who promotes support for moms and babies, that doesn't even have the decency to give her the space to grieve the bassinet she never got to fill."

Happiest Baby responded in a statement on social media, denying the allegations. "Content was never a consideration, and at no time did we mention anything about content or obligations since her loss," the statement read. "We offered to set up a courier pickup to help alleviate a potentially painful trigger."

However, Larsen's sister replied to the statement, disputing the nature of the company's contact. "Demanding the bassinet be shipped back in five separate emails isn't an offer," she retorted.

Happiest Baby continues to come under fire on social media, as users request for proof that they never "demanded" their product's return as customers disavow the brand.

Witney Carson, a professional dancer and former supporter of the brand joined in, sharing her disappointment. "Be better for future mothers," she urged.
