After a strong showing on the road in their first two games, the Miami Dolphins will finally get a chance to play before home crowds on Sunday as they host the Atlanta Falcons at Sun Life Stadium in Florida. Atlanta will try to grit out a win over the three-point favorite Dolphins in Week 3 by relying on Matt Ryan to air-lift them to victory after the loss of four key players in a Week 2 victory over the Rams. Kickoff starts at 4:05pm EST.

Before this season started, most people wouldn't have expected the Atlanta Falcons to come hobbling down to Miami to see if they can keep from falling to 1-2. But the Dolphins, who finished 7-9 last year, have put together a strong showing thus far in 2013, racking up two straight road victories against the Browns and Colts. They'll see if they can deal out another blow to the Falcons, who haven't played well defensively this year and who are going to be considerably handicapped by injuries: Steven Jackson, Sean Weatherspoon, Bradie Ewing and Kroy Biermann all went down in Week 2, with Biermann and Ewing out for the rest of the season. The Falcons will hope their formidable pass offense can obviate those other concerns. Quarterback Matt Ryan has completed 71.6 percent of passes, second best in the NFL, and receiver Julio Jones has 258 receiving yards, also second best in the league. Despite a shaky offense-line performance last week - Ryan was sacked two times and hit after throwing eight times - Ryan threw for 374 yards and two scores, while Jones' 182 receiving yards matched the best of his career.

Miami's second-year QB Ryan Tannehill doesn't have those kinds of statistics - he's only thrown two touchdowns this season - but he's been superbly efficient, completing 65.3 percent of his passes and averaging 8.2 yards per attempt. The Dolphins will try to get their lagging run game, which ranks 28th in the league, up to par this week. Miami has been here before pretty recently - in 2010, it started 2-0 but finished 7-9 - but over the past seven years, they went 5-18 in September, with only one winning season in that frame of time. So the team isn't getting ahead of themselves. "It's only two games," Miami cornerback and former Falcon Brent Grimes told Yahoo! Sports. "But we played well and got two road wins to start the season, which is a big deal, and we showed a lot of promise of things we can do if we keep our heads on straight."
