Awesome news for fans of the Fox-turned-Netflix series "Arrested Development." Executive Producer Brian Grazer reveals in an interview with Grantland's Bill Simmons that 17 new episodes of the hit series are being planned for the streaming service.
At the 24:30 minute mark in the video below, Grazer says, "People are loyal to it, and we're gonna do another... 17 episodes. So stay tuned for Arrested Development." When asked to confirm if the episodes were in the works, Netflix declined to comment. Check out the full interview in the video below.
Rumors have been circulating around the net of a possible fifth season or a movie since the Netflix revival of the show in 2013. Last year, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said he was "positive" that Season 5 would happen, and told USA Today, "It's just a matter of when."
Furthermore Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has said that Netflix would be interested in producing another season of "Arrested Development": "If the talent were willing to do more, and interested in that, I'm sure we would be willing". Grazer said that "We are in conversations with them to do another [season]."
Another season wouldn't be so surprising as there are a ton of unanswered questions like is Lucille 2 really dead? Who killed her? And will Buster really be going to jail for murder? Even more season 4 features a customary "On the next episode" clip; this differs from the original run's concluding clip, which was titled "On the epilogue."
