The Cleveland kidnapper who is said to have abducted three women and kept them locked in his house for 10 years, Ariel Castro, was denied access to the 6-year-old child he fathered with one of his victims. Cuyahoga County Judge Michael Russo declared Wednesday that Castro was competent enough to stand trial, but would not be allowed interaction with the girl as it would be inappropriate.

Castro recently concluded a mental evaluation, and it was concluded that he was able enough to understand the charges against him. Castro is on trial for 392-counts of crimes including rape, kidnapping and aggravated murder of a fetus as it was alleged that his other victims also became pregnant, to which he responded by starving and beating the women until they miscarried, ABC News reported.

The three women he kidnapped, Amanda Berry -- mother of the 6-year-old -- Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, who he kidnapped between 2002 and 2004, escaped the house in May when Berry called for help after Castro had left the house. Neighbors and police came to her rescue upon hearing her cries. The jury selection for the Castro case is set for August 5.
