While Apple has had an already busy year, the Cupertino-based company is about to have an even more exciting quarter 4 with the release of its highly anticipated iPad 5. The tablet's predecessor, the iPad 4, was released almost a full year ago, making the next-generation tablet a real upgrade. And lucky for all those who have been waiting on baited breathe for any word of the iPad 5's release date, prepare yourself, because it's the Apple's iPad 5 that will be released tomorrow, October 22. Apple is holding an invitation only event tomorrow at its Cupertino campus, and the rumored focus of this private event will be the latest updates to the company's iPad line.

According to AllThingsD.com, the event will also feature the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks. The iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 were notably absent from Apple's much-anticipated Sept. 10 media event, which now in hindsight seems to make the most sense. The release of the new iPads alongside the release of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c would have only created chaos for Apple. With an October 22 release the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 will arrive just in time for the Holiday season.

So now that we know Apple's latest iPad are finally coming, what should we expect, well a lot! Considering the last iPad was released over a year ago, several changes have been made to the tablet, in regards to both features and specs. The most notable change for the iPad 5 will certainly be its re-design. The full-size iPad 5 has received a full overhaul, which will make it look more like the successful iPad Mini. Apple will most likely unveil the iPad 5 with the same overall thickness, streamlined side bezels and symmetrical speaker grilles, as it's smaller version. In addition the iPad 5 is expected to have a similar aluminum unibody and less-tapered back for an easier grip in the palm of the user's hand. In terms of weight, the iPad 5 was put on a diet, and for users this upgrade is certainly beneficial. Its predecessor the iPad 4 weighs 1.46 pounds and the iPad Mini weighs 0.69 pounds, so most likely Apple will aim for a weight in between the two for the iPad 5.

Not only will the iPad 5 look better, it will perform better. The iPad 5 will most likely run Apple's new 64-bit A7 chip, the new chip was recently released in the iPhone 5S. But knowing Apple, the upgrade won't stop there; the iPad 5 may feature an A7X chip. The powerful processor would help support a Retina display and other vital features. According to IBTimes, the A7X chip "would perform similarly to the A7 chip but be optimized for iPad." And while recent reports have claimed that the inclusion of the A7X chip indicates the iPad 5 featuring Touch ID, this does not seem to be the case. According to Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, the new iPads will "probably" not feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor because Apple is allocating full production capacity for the iPhone 5s. Other features include a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an upgrade to ithe iPad 5's FaceTime HD camera, the front facing camera will most likely be a 2-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video.
