Over a month ago, Apple introduced its new iMac and it became available on Nov. 30.
"With a stunning design, brilliant display and faster performance, we've made the world's leading all-in-one desktop computer better in every way," Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said. "The all-new iMac is unbelievably thin, yet packs an incredible amount of performance and technology into our most innovative desktop."
Apple said its 21.5-inch iMac features a stunning design, brilliant display with reduced reflection, faster processors and an innovative new storage option called Fusion Drive, the new iMac is the most advanced desktop Apple has ever made.
The 21.5-inch version of the desktop starts at $1,299 and the 27-inch version starts at $1,799.00.
But, what are the critics saying?
"The price aside, if you're in need of an iMac upgrade or you are considering a new desktop for the home or office, the new iMacs are worth a very long, hard stare," ABC News' Joanna Stern wrote. "This isn't just another "eh" upgrade. This is a desktop with as much sex appeal as the iPad and iPhone."
CNet said while the iMac is competitive, but "the lack of HDMI input is frustrating, and Apple's continued reluctance to add a touch screen may bother some."
"You might be alarmed by the fact that the design is the most interesting thing about the new iMac," CNET posted. "A thin bezel is nice to look at, but it doesn't improve processing speed, workflow, or overall utility. Fortunately for Apple, it evolved that design from a computer with a strong technical foundation."
The Verge gave the iMac a 9.0 score and said while it has a "gorgeous display, a slim, light design and powerful performance," it has no optical drive and the speakers are worse than previous model."
