Angelina Jolie’s Thena In ‘The Eternals’ Marvel Film Explained

Marvel has just released a new image of Angelina Jolie filming for her first Marvel movie, “The Eternals.” The image featured Jolie donning a bright blonde hair and flowing robes, creating more buzz around her role, Thena, in the lesser-known property of the Marvel comics.

Marvel has yet to release the full details of Jolie’s role in the upcoming film. However, if the comic book on which “The Eternals” movie is based is anything to go by, it looks like Thena is going to play a significant role in the upcoming Marvel film.

In the comics, Thena is the daughter of Zuras, a powerful Eternal, and Cybele. Born in the city of Olympia, Thena’s name was originally Azura. However, Zuras decided to change her name so it could resemble the name of Zeus’ daughter, Athena.

The way Thena’s name reflected Athena’s sealed the treaty between the Olympian gods and the Eternals, who used to be at war with each other. It was through this treaty that the Olympian gods decreed that the Eternals would serve as their representatives on Earth.

Readers of “The Eternals” comics know that following this treaty, Thena served as Athena’s personal representative on Earth. As a result, many mistook her for Zeus’ daughter. The comics also reveal that the Grecian City of Athens was built not for Athena but for Thena, a talented and powerful warrior and scholar.

Despite being 4,000 years old, Thena remains relatively young by the standards of the Eternals. The comics depict her as a woman with superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes. She also has the ability to control cosmic energy and boost her own life force, allowing her to be invulnerable and immortal at the same time.

Thena is also someone who can wield a bow that fires cold energy arrows, which she uses to surround her victims with a ring of intense heat and light. During her early years, Thena wanted the Deviants destroyed so that humans could be equal with Eternals. However, things changed when she fell into a doomed romance with the evil Deviant, Warlord Kro.

It remains to be seen if “The Eternals” movie will feature Thena and Warlord Kro’s romance. In the comics, her love for this Deviant caused much of the heartache she has experienced in her long life.
