Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are being linked to each other. The A-listers are reportedly being set up by Jolie’s “Maleficent 2” costar Michelle Pfeiffer.
A tabloid recently claimed that Depp has always had a soft spot for Jolie. But it’s Brad Pitt’s ex-wife who asked to be set up with Depp. Pfeiffer and Depp have worked on a slew of movies together, and they’re quite close.
An unnamed source told the tabloid that Depp thinks that he and Jolie are perfect together because they have both experienced similar things in life. For instance, they both went through their respective divorces. Depp was previously married to Amber Heard.
Jolie and Depp also worked together in the past. After starring in “The Tourist,” they have reportedly maintained a close relationship with each other.
“Ange has always had a great relationship with Johnny,” the unnamed source said. “They were great sources of support to each other during their respective marriage breakdowns which, bizarrely, occurred within months of each other,” the unnamed source added.
The insider went on to say that Jolie also thinks that she and Depp could become a great couple. However, the mom of six is hesitant to get into a relationship with a famous actor because she knows that their relationship would make headlines again. And this is where Pfeiffer could come in.
The actress has been reminding Jolie that Depp has been to therapy, and he’s also been dealing with his personal issues. “She thinks that makes him an even more perfect match for Ange — he would be coming to the table with a clean slate!” the source said.
But according to rumor-debunking site Gossip Cop, there’s no truth to all of the claims. Jolie has not asked Pfeiffer to set her up with Depp. And if she wanted to date the actor, she would’ve contacted him directly since they’re also friends.
The publication also stressed the fact that Jolie is not looking for a new relationship at the moment. During her previous interviews, she has made it clear that her focus is on her children and her career.
