Ana Brenda Contreras is the star of Univision's primetime telenovela, "Lo Imperdonable." In this new soap she works opposite Iván Sánchez, Grettell Váldez, Juan Ferrara and Sergio Sendel. Although production of this is still ongoing in Mexico, she is taking on another role. Contreras was announced to be joining the cast of musical play "Mentiras." Producer Morris Gilbert confirmed that the telenovela actress would be portraying Daniela in a couple of shows. This strategy will help to revive the interest in the play with different actresses coming onto the show. Just recently it was announced that Angélica Vale was confirmed for an adaptation of the show set to take place in Los Angeles on top of a film adaptation that would star Ludwika Paleta.
"Mentiras" is a musical that uses the top 80's songs to tell a story. A group of four women come together at a funeral where they all find that they all had something to do with the dead man. Character names are inspired by the 80s icons like Daniela Romo, Dulce, Lupita D'Alessio, Emmanuel and Yuri. All of their songs are intertwined to relive that totally awesome decade. It might sound odd to everyone that Ana Brenda now wants to leap into singing, but this is not her first foray into singing or musicals. Contreras was previously part of the cast of "Timbiriche: El Musical," another musical inspired by the songs of Timbiriche. The "Corazón Indomable" star was first discovered on the "Popstars" reality show, which had a mission to find the next all-girl pop band. Ana Brenda was one of the finalists selected and formed "T De Tila."
As she found more opportunities in acting, life led her to great opportunities in productions like "Sortilegio," "Teresa" and starring in "La Que No Podía Amar." Contreras has always had that little singing bug in her. With her latest telenovela production, "Lo Imperdonable." The actress sings the closing credits theme song called "Como Perdonar." We are excited to seeing her back on-stage and live. Let's hope that this brings on more opportunities for Ana Brenda to continue singing.
