While we have all probably heard the news that Jessica Lange is not returning to Ryan Murphy's horror anthology series "American Horror Story," another actor has come out to confirm that the actress is finished with "AHS" once and for all.
During a recent interview with Charlie Rose, Lange confirmed that "American Horror Story: Freak Show" was indeed her last in the FX series, explaining that after four seasons it just felt like the time to end it had arrived.
"I had four years with that, four seasons, and each year was a marvelous character," Lange said. "Everything changed from one year to another which made it very interesting to me. But no, I think sometimes you come to the end of something and it has had its natural—"
Rose then added, "But, I mean, people loved you in that." To which Lange simply replied, "I know, I know, it’s funny."
Lange had appeared in "American Horror Story: Murder House," "Asylum," "Coven" and "Freak Show" and series creator Murphy was hopeful the actress would return for newer seasons.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy had said he was in contact with Lange and was confident of her return to the show.
"I've been talking to her," he said. "It's always possible. I'm trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She'll be back -- she's not gone forever."
"That's the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them," Murphy added. "She wants to come back, we just have to come up with something."
However, the Lange and Murphy collaboration is not over and the actress will appear in his new anthology series "Feud," which will examine one famous feud per season.
The first season of "Feud" will see Susan Sarandon and Lange portraying the infamous rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford on the set of the 1960s hit "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" reported The Huffington Post.
