"American Horror Story" is back for its third season and the "Coven" premiere was witchy to say the least. In the premiere episode "Bitchcraft" we were introduced to the mismatched "Coven" -- Fiona, the Supreme witch of her generation, her daughter, who is running Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies and the four unwillingly students who are in attendance. The latest addition to the "Coven" crew is quite the generational woman, and we mean that very literally. The premiere episode ends with Fiona uncovering Madame LaLaurie, who despite being buried alive for centuries, looks fresh as a daisy. Fiona is still seeking the power to maintain eternal life and youth, despite being a powerful witch, and sees the well preserved LaLaurie as her ticket.
In episode 2, "Boy Parts", the audience will meet Marie Laveau in the present day, who is the voodoo priestess of New Orleans. Laveau demands LaLaurie from Fiona, promising the Supreme immortality in exchange. Angle Bassett, who plays Laveau on "American Horror Story" stated that while Fiona may be the Supreme witch of her generation, she will "meet her match" with Laveau. "There's history, there's payback, there's making things right," she added. The animosity between Fiona and Laveau is palpable but the large mystery that remains is who Fiona will side with, the cruel LaLaurie of the Voodoo Queen Laveau.
But if you thought episode 2, "Boy Parts" only had to do with the all-female coven, you are surely mistaken. Like the sickly episode title implies, there will be boys and there will be their parts. But how will it all fit together, well simply put, as the girls see fit. After Madison flipped that fraternity bus, killing all but two, Zoe is furious with her for killing the one innocent boy. But instead of mourning the death of the only nice boy on board the bus filled with ruthless rapists, the girls, mainly Madison, takes matters into her own hands. Zoe and Madison enter the morgue and decide to create the "perfect boyfriend" with the best part of each deceased boy. Madison then brings this Frankenstein boyfriend back to life, with a bloody kiss of life.
Think that's grisly? Madison and Zoe aren't the only women bringing men back to life. Laveau summons the dead back to her through powerful magic, and the corpses are not ordinary dead men. LaLaurie cowers in the witch academy, recognizing the dead men as the servants she mutilated and murdered. These undead serve Laveau now, and how they can be stopped is still yet unknown to the coven.
