Amazon has revealed that they will soon acquire the popular cloud based digital comic platform ComiXology. Not too much has been revealed about the acquisition but we do know it is expected to be finalized and executed in the coming months. David Naggar, Amazon vice president boasted about the company saying:
“We’ve long admired the passion comiXology brings to changing the way we buy and read comics and graphic novels. We look forward to investing in the business, growing the team, and together, bringing comics and graphic novels to even more readers.”
CEO of ComiXology, David Steinberger spoke about the mission of the company plus his hopes for the future with Amazon.
“ComiXology’s mission is to spread the love of comics and graphic novels in all forms. There is no better home for comiXology than Amazon to see this vision through. Working together, we look to accelerate a new age for comic books and graphic novels.”
The New York-based company, ComiXology, was founded in 2007 and rose to prominence through its unique guided view technology which presents viewers graphic novel content from different publishers.
