On Thursday, Amanda Bynes pleaded no contest to charges of driving with a suspended License, settling a case stemming from an incident in September. Last fall, the 27-year-old actress was stopped by cops and had her car impounded for driving with a suspended license; her license had been suspended earlier that month after a couple of alleged hit-and-run incidents, as well as an arrest on a suspected DUI. While settlements have been reached with the alleged victims in the hit-and-run cases, the DUI case is still pending.
The plea was entered on Bynes's behalf by her lawyer, Richard Hutton, as the hearing was in Los Angeles and these days the former Nickelodeon actress and current Twitter celebrity has relocated to NYC. The judge overseeing the case ordered Bynes to stay out of trouble for three years, and warned not to drive without a valid license or insurance. She was also ordered to pay a $300 fine.
