Alex Rodriguez recently gushed over his fiancée, Jennifer Lopez. The retired baseball player also said that Lopez has a superpower.
During his interview with the New York Times, Rodriguez was asked what Lopez has taught him when it comes to being a public figure. The interviewer, David Marchese, said that this is something that Lopez is good at, having been in the industry for decades.
“I’ve never met anyone who’s more honest,” Rodriguez said. “She’s so authentic and genuine. It was strange to see someone of such magnitude to be so normal, be such a great mother and partner, and friend. How can you be like this and then go perform in front of 80,000 people? But that’s her superpower,” he added.
Rodriguez and Lopez have been dating for two years. They reconnected in 2017 after bumping into each other at a restaurant. Lopez told Ellen DeGeneres when she appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that it was she that tapped Rodriguez on the shoulder.
Immediately after, Rodriguez sent Lopez a text message asking her to go out to dinner with him, and she said yes. Months later, the couple starred in their first joint interview for Vanity Fair.
While speaking with the publication, Rodriguez admitted that he had first-date nerves for the very reason that he was unsure if they were really on a date. The athlete said that he thought Lopez scheduled to meet him at night due to her busy work schedule.
“I went in uneasy, not knowing her situation, he said. “We’re both Leos, we’re both from New York, we’re both Latino and about 20 other things.”
Rodriguez and Lopez also made sure to involve their respective children into their relationship. Lopez has two children, Max and Emme, from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony. Rodriguez also has two daughters, Ella and Natasha, from her previous marriage to Cynthia Scurtis.
Months after they started dating, Lopez and Rodriguez decided to move in together. Their children also managed to spend more time with each other, and they have gotten close. Lopez and Rodriguez just got engaged recently, and all four children support their decision.
