Though he continues to play third base for the New York Yankees while appealing a 211-game suspension for the use of Performance-Enhancing Drugs, Alex Rodriguez remains major focal point of MLB fans and members of the media.

The most recent news hanging over the 38-year-old's head has to do with a report indicating that members of A-Rod's camp leaked the names of multiple ballplayers in connection with the use of PED's. Along with Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun, Yankee teammate Francisco Cervelli is another name said to have been released by associates of the former All-Star.

According to a report done by '60 Minutes,' members of the third baseman's inner circle distributed the 2 names in an act that could now have a serious impact on Rodriguez's suspension appeal. These individuals obtained unredacted documents that included the names of Braun and Cervelli, 2 players involved with Biogenesis.

Expressing his displeasure with the recent news, ESPN reports that lead attorney David Cornwell believes the latest allegations come as another attempt to tarnish his client's name.

"These allegations are untrue and are another attempt to harm Alex, this time by driving a wedge between him and other players in the league," Cornwell said recently. "While Alex focuses on baseball and repeatedly states that he is going to respect the appeal process, the drumbeat of false allegations continues. These improper and viciously false leaks will not alter the fact that MLB exceeded its authority under the JDA and the 211 game [suspension] will not stand."

According to the New York Daily News, Rodriguez allegedly sent one of his associates to obtain documents, with rumors spreading through Major League Baseball that the former Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers shortstop had in his possession a list of names that he was prepared to release to the media in order to take the negative attention off of him.
