Mark your calendars: April 30 has become "Alejandro Sanz Day."
Los Angeles granted him the holiday on Wednesday, when the Spanish singer was in town to kick off his "La música no se toca" tour. Sanz stopped by the Grammy Museum where he donated a guitar, and was honored with the announcement of a day.
"It's an honor to be part of this city's musical history," he said. "This special recognition is really touching because if my mother was still here, she would have been so proud of me."
The Spanish singer, who spends half his time in Miami, has won 16 Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammys in his career, which makes him the Spanish artists with more Grammy awards.
His last album, "La música no se toca," has already reached three number one hits with the first single. His upcoming tour will bring him to several U.S. cities, like New York, Washington DC and Miami.
