Alejandro Fernández will no longer be appearing during the 2014 Viña Del Mar Music Festival in Chile. The 42-year-old would have held a presentation on February 25 the same day as fellow Mexican singer Ana Gabriel. The reason for the singer cancelling his appearance was due to an accident he had last Thursday while vacationing in Colorado. Fernández suffered a fracture on his right knee while skiing and was forced to bed rest until further notice. Alejandro also had another concert date on March 7 in Chile that he will postpone for another day.

The "Me Dediqué A Perderte" singer took to his Instagram account to clear things up and update his fans on his health condition. "Thanks to all of you for your gestures of love," he wrote. "I am saddened to have cancelled Viña Del Mar because I really wanted to come back, but I hope to see all of you next year with the 'Confidencias' tour. We have postponed the other dates this year. Thank God this fracture was not as bad as the previous one and I will soon be back on stage. Thank you for your comprehension." Watch a video of Alejandro Fernandez down below!

Previously, Cristian Castro was also forced to cancel his appearance during the festival due to difficulties in negotiations between his management and event organizers. Lucero was another star set to appear, but pulled put after the backlash of her animal hunting scandal. "In the name of the Viña del Mar International Music Festival, we would like to inform you that the singer and actress Lucero has decided to cancel her participation in the next edition of the competition," read the statement released by Chilevisión. "The reason for this decision has not been exposed by the singer's manager, Ernesto Fernández. The reason is the media uproar originated by the publishing of photos from the artist's personal life that have put at risk her security and public image."
