On Thursday, several Mexican publications announced Alejandro Fernández and Carlos Vives were touring together to continue with the project that Luis Miguel had left behind.
However, the Colombian singer's management team released a statement on Friday night denying the reports and clarifying the situation.
“Carlos Vives’s press office denies the information published about the singer's alleged tour with Alejandro Fernández,” reads the press release. “The report is false, and a result of an interview the Colombian star gave recently, which was taken out of context.”
They continue, “Vives has a very strong friendship with Fernández, however, he is working on his next studio album at the moment. Its release date will be announced soon.”
Star Productions, the company promoting the event, denied the possibility of LuisMi returning to the musical journey, and added that despite the multiple attempts to reach an agreement with the singer’s management team, a straight answer was never provided.
Rumors about the “AFLM” tour (Alejandro Fernández, Luis Miguel) began back in November, when the “Como Quién Pierde Una Estrella” performer shared several images hinting that the event was coming soon. Unfortunately, many fans were left disappointed.
This is not the first time that “El Sol” bails on a fellow singer, or his admirers for that matter. In the last few months, the “Ahora Te Puedes Marchar” crooner has been cancelling one concert after another for alleged health problems.
Just last month, El Auditorio Nacional decided to cut ties with Mexico’s favorite “mirrey” for cancelling yet another performance.
“We ended up being just as disappointed as the audience, “ El Auditorio Nacional’s executive director Gerardo Estrada declared. “We don’t think it’s right that the auditorium has to assume this responsibility, if anything, it’s a responsibility that relies completely on the artist.”
Luis Miguel has failed to personally address his fans and followers to explain the situation and/or share details about his health condition.
