Adrian Peterson is wowing fans again with a superior start to the 2013 NFL season. In Sunday's match against the Detroit Lions, the Vikings star scored a 78-yard touchdown to score his first points of the season. Peterson ended last season with an impressive 2,097 rushing yards and has showed no signs of stopping. A No. 1 draft pick, Peterson returned from an ACL injury to make up for lost time, averaging six yards per carry and reaching the endzone 13 times. Though Detroit ultimately took home the win with a score of 34-24, the presiding worry that Peterson was poised for a letdown season can now subside for the moment.
Peterson tore through the Lions in a game last season, scoring a 61-yard touchdown, making this reprisal all the sweeter. Peterson received 370 carries, including the Vikings' playoff game last season, beginning rumors that he was going to plummet in the seasons to come. Vikings fans can rest easy as his speed and unmatched power have not wavered since. It's uncertain if Peterson will be able to match his 2,000-plus feat of last season, but he will at least deliver on the high-expectations placed upon him as he makes his way through another dynamic season.
