A Tulsa man has been arrested for allegedly stalking his former colleague, shooting her husband, and attempting to kidnap her.
According to a statement from the Tulsa Police Department (TPD), the incident happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, April 2.
The unnamed target was leaving for work and her husband was escorting her to her vehicle when they noticed the suspect, Justin Arthur-Ray Davis, sitting in his truck nearby.
The suspect had been stalking his former colleague for months after he resigned from their mutual workplace due to unknown reasons.
"Davis has been stalking the victim for over a month after he resigned at their mutual workplace," TPD said. "She has made reports of Davis sitting outside her apartment and leaving candy and food on her doorstep."
The suspect then got out of the truck with a shotgun and began chasing the couple. The scared couple managed to get back inside their apartment.
"Davis shot through the door hitting the husband in the hand," authorities said. "Davis [then] went into the apartment and grabbed the victim dragging her down the stairs, assaulting her along the way."
Neighbors who woke up hearing the commotion and gunshot immediately called 911 and reported the incident.
The witnesses told officials that they saw Davis "choke and punch" the woman.
"The husband then came back downstairs to save her and Davis [pointed] the shotgun at him saying he will kill him if she doesn’t get in the truck," TPD said. Davis then fired two warning shots into the air, police said.
As authorities began to arrive, the suspect immediately fled the scene on his truck which led to a short pursuit on Interstate-44.
Davis was arrested after he lost control and crashed the vehicle when he attempted to take an off-ramp.
He suffered injuries to his head and was transported to a local area hospital. Investigators recovered the shotgun and ammunition from the vehicle at the scene of the accident.
Davis was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of kidnapping, shooting with intent to kill, and first-degree burglary.
It is unclear at this time whether he will be facing any additional charges.
