An 81-year-old man has been accused of brutally stabbing his 61-year-old wife to death for refusing to have sex with him after he swallowed a Viagra pill in Fanano di Gradara, Italy on Dec. 25.
Vito Cangini, 81, is facing charges of voluntary homicide after he allegedly knifed his Ukrainian wife, Natalia Kyrychok, 61, to death, on Christmas day, Dec. 25, in the town of Fanano di Gradara, Italy, New York Post reported.
On Christmas day, Kyrychok allegedly promised Cangini that she would go to bed with him. However, when Cangini took the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra, she changed her mind and refused to have sex with him.
Kyrychok's refusal enraged Cangini and this led to a heated argument between the two. During the confrontation, Cangini accused the victim of being more interested in her boss and then allegedly proceeded to stab her to death. After murdering his wife, the suspect left her body on the floor in a pool of blood and went to sleep.
Cangini woke up the next day and allegedly acted as if nothing had happened. He reportedly ate breakfast and walked his dog twice. In the afternoon, Cangini finally told his neighbor about the murder and asked the man to inform the police officers about the crime. However, the neighbor didn’t want to get involved in the case and told Cangini to contact the officers himself, the Daily Mail reported.
Later that day, when a woman called home for his wife, Cangini allegedly told her about the killing and asked her to inform the officers about the crime as well. However, when the woman also refused his request for help, he finally called the restaurant where his wife had worked as a chef for two years.
“I know there was something going on between you two,” he told the restaurant owner.
Cangini allegedly warned the restaurant owner that he will never see Kyrychok again. Following this, the restaurant owner informed the officers about the crime. Law enforcement responded to the scene and found Kyrychok's body. She had reportedly been stabbed at least four times, including once to the heart.
Officers also found the murder weapon at the scene and subsequently took Cangini into custody.
