Talking about the Spanish-language network Upfronts, one of the biggest news to come out of the week-long presentations was the sequel to the smash hit "La Reina del Sur." Kate del Castillo is confirmed to return as Teresa Mendoza, which will pick up eight years after disappearing without a trace and living a peaceful, idyllic life in the Italian countryside, Teresa’s past finally catches up with her. She is forced to return to Mexico and the dangerous world of drug trafficking.
Another major announcement by Telemundo was that "El Señor de los Cielos" would return for Season 6. Aurelio Casillas has recovered all the fortune he lost and finally feels the need to retire. But it's payback time, the hatred he sowed since he sold his soul to the demon of drug trafficking is now knocking at his door with the face and blood of the many innocent people he destroyed. Aurelio will understand that his riches are an illusion and that after having been the great hunter he was, he will now become the prey. The women he mistreated, the men he betrayed, the political puppets he put in power, and even his own children will turn against him. Has the time come for Aurelio to pay for his sins?

On Univision one of the most exciting new series to be announced was "El Último Dragón," a project from "La Reina del Sur" creator. This crime drama spans the globe, with the main character, played by Kuno Becker, living in Japan and traveling through Asia, America and Europe to conduct business. The story begins by showing how he got there: as a boy, and a grandson of the Sinaloa Cartel, he is sent away by his grandfather after his parents are murdered in Mexico. Picking up in Japan 20 years later, the handsome and educated young man lives with simplicity and sobriety, unknowingly being prepared by his grandfather’s confidante—a member of Japan’s largest organized crime syndicate, the Japanese Yakuza—to represent his family back home, as the heir of narcos.
