A Mexican actor caught up in a road rage case that resulted in the death of a 63-year-old man has been found guilty of manslaughter.
Pablo Lyle has been convicted of the incident that happened in 2019 involving Juan Ricardo Hernandez.
At the time, Lyle ended up cutting Hernandez’s vehicle and the 63-year-old went out of his car to confront the accused. The 63-year-old was screaming and banging Lyle’s car and the actor responded by punching Hernandez in the face.
Two witnesses saw Lyle punch Hernandez in the face before fleeing the scene.
Moreover, there was also surveillance footage obtained by NBC 6 that showed the encounter.
In the video, one man can be seen running out of his car and punching the other after the second man had banged on his car. The punch knocked the second man to the ground.
Hernandez was brought to the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami but eventually died from brain injury, WPLG reported. The 63-year-old’s brain injury led to an internal hemorrhage that left him unconscious.
He died several days after the life-support system connected to him was disconnected. Lyle would be arrested days later by Miami Police at the Miami International Airport.
Lyle was found guilty according to Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. The attorney of the Mexican actor has yet to comment on the matter.
"Today's jury verdict finding Pablo Lyle guilty of the manslaughter death of 63-year-old Juan Ricardo Hernández shows the outrageous destructiveness of 'Road Rage' incidents," Rundle said. "Two lives were destroyed by simple roadway anger, a situation we see far too often on our streets and on streets across the country."
Jurors reportedly deliberated for over four hours on the case before arriving at the guilty verdict. The family of the deceased became emotional upon learning about the guilty verdict on Lyle.
