A 20-year-old woman reportedly killed herself at her boyfriend's house after her former partner blocked her on WhatsApp in Dahisar, Mumbai, India on Sunday, May 15.
The woman, identified as 20-year-old Pranali Lokare, was found hanging from a noose at her boyfriend's residence located along the railway tracks in suburban Dahisar, Mumbai, India on early Monday morning.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Lokare and her 27-year-old boyfriend have been together last six months. On Sunday night, both of them attended a friend's wedding together. After the nuptials, the woman allegedly insisted that she wanted to stay at his place overnight.
However, he did not entertain her demand and asked her to go home. Even though Lokare went away, she soon started calling her boyfriend and again insisted that she wanted to come to his house. The man advised her against doing so, saying that several drug addicts roam the area at night. He then blocked her number on WhatsApp, NDTV reported.
Following this, the woman stormed into his house and questioned him why he blocked her on WhatsApp. She then refused to leave his flat the rest of the evening. However, the distraught woman allegedly proceeded to hang herself from the ceiling at her boyfriend's home. When her partner got up in the morning, he found her limp body hanging from a fixture.
The Borivali unit of the Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered an accidental death report (ADR) in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the officers added that no suicide note was found at the residence.
