After a machete attack in Rochdale, England, two women were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Details aren't out, but the two women are aged 29 and 34. Greater Manchester Police revealed that two people were taken to a hospital following the incident. A 27-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his hands, arms and back. His condition remains serious. A 53-year-old woman was also taken to hospital with an injury to her hand but got discharged.
According to detectives, three people arrived in a blue Renault Captu before forcefully entering a property and attacking a man with a machete. During the attack, a woman was also injured, reported Manchester Evening News.
Detective Sergeant Richard Shelton said, "This was a brutal attack in which a man was stabbed multiple times and required surgery for his injuries.
"This type of crime will absolutely not be tolerated in Greater Manchester and whilst we have two people currently in custody, our investigation remains very much ongoing with numerous lines of enquiry being followed to identify the men responsible for this attack as quickly as possible. We know that the offenders were driving a blue Renault Captu and believe there could have also been a second car present at the scene."
The incident happened in broad daylight and police are "hopeful that members of the public who were in the area at the time may have dashcam footage of the men driving this car to and from the scene. Please do not hesitate to contact police with any information; even the smallest piece of intelligence could play a vital part in helping us to complete our investigation."
One eyewitness said, "Whoever had been involved must have gone, but I saw a lady come out and the neighbors. I went across the road to see what was going on, but it wasn't until this morning that I knew what had happened.
“When I came here this morning at around 9.30 a.m it was still all taped off and the police were here with the van. I believe they were here all night."
Another eyewitness said that he saw paramedics arrive and leave with someone who was injured, with bandages and blood stains.
In another incident earlier this month, two men attacked each other with machetes in Morecambe, Lancashire. Lancashire police said that the two men aged 31 and 26 were arrested on suspicion of assault, reported Mirror.
