17-Year-Old Girl Kills Both Her Parents For Objecting To Her Marriage

A 17-year-old girl reportedly killed both her parents with the help of her lover after her father and mother objected to her getting married to her boyfriend in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The girl's 44-year-old father was found dead in his house in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh on March 6. However, since the girl's mother had also died under similar circumstances two months before the murder on Jan. 15, the girl's cousin reportedly felt suspicious regarding the consistent deaths in the family and notified the authorities.

Following this, the father's remains were sent for an autopsy. The postmortem examination revealed that his death was caused by strangulation and that his bloodwork shows signs of intoxication, the Times Of India reported.

After the police led an investigation into the incident, it revealed that the girl had administered sleeping pills to her father, after which she, with the help of her 20-year-old lover, strangled him to death. When the officers further questioned her, the suspect confessed to murdering her mother two months ago as well.

According to authorities, the two accused committed the murders because the girl's family objected to their relationship as they belonged to different castes.

Following the gruesome discovery, the officers arrested the accused couple. The girl was taken to a juvenile home. Meanwhile, the boy was remanded to judicial custody.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a man allegedly killed both of his parents with a shovel for not allowing him to get married in the Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, India on Monday, March. 7, Latin Times reported.

The accused, identified as Shyamu Singh, reportedly frequently had heated arguments with his parents Lallu Singh, 67, and Maya Devi over his marital status. On Monday, March. 7, as the three erupted into a similar confrontation, Singh, in a fit of rage, picked up a shovel, bashed his parents with the instrument, and murdered them before proceeding to flee the scene.

According to Bhola, Lallu’s brother, Lallu's younger son Singh had become increasingly worried about getting married for the past several days, even asking his parents to look for a suitable girl for him to get engaged with as soon as possible. Bhola added that he also used to beat up his parents over the same issue.

The suspect was last seen on Monday morning, March 7, roaming the village alone. Later that day, he went to the home of one of his neighbors and informed him that he had killed both his parents.

The neighbor, who was shocked after hearing the news, immediately alerted the Police Control room and informed other villagers about the murder. Following this, they rushed to Lallu’s house and found the couple’s bodies lying in a pool of blood. Meanwhile, Singh managed to flee the village on foot during the confusion.
