As we’re inching towards the end of 2019, one thing is certain. Everyone is on the lookout for bigger and better Disney movies to watch in the year 2020. Here’s a list of unmissable flicks that promise to be worth the wait.

1) "Underwater" — January 10

The storyline essays the lives of a group of young researchers, whose lives get recast in unfathomable ways, after an earthquake wrecks havoc on their underwater laboratory. The movie stars Kristen Stewart, Jessica Henwick, Mamoudou Athie, and John Gallagher Jr. star in the lead roles.

2) "Call of the Wild" — February 21

This movie is pegged as an adaptation of the short adventure novel by Jack London. The plot sheds light on a heartwarming story of a dog who fights to survive in the Alaskan wilderness after being stolen from his family's property and sold off as a sled dog. The live-action and CGI movie features Harrison Ford, Karen Gillan, Dan Stevens, and Bradley Whitford.

3) "Onward" — March 6

This animated flick sees two teenage elf brothers essayed ( Chris Pratt and Tom Holland ) venture out on a journey to bring their father back from the grave for 24 hours. A series of spine-chilling encounters await as the road is fraught with risks.

4) "Mulan" — March 27

It’s confirmed—Disney is ticking off 1998's "Mulan" in its extensive list of animated remakes in the year 2020. The live-action and CGI adaptation revolves around a young woman who disguises herself as a man and takes her ailing father's place in the war to save China. The cast includes Yifei Liu, Donnie Yen, Yoson An, Jet Li, and Jason Scott Lee.

5) "The New Mutants" — April 3

The forthcoming installment in Marvel's "X-Men" series originally had a 2019 release date, but a sudden change of plans postponed its release to next April. The story highlights the lives of a group of teenage mutants who are kept in captivity in a secret facility. Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga play the lead roles in the movie.

6) "Antlers" — April 20

The “Antlers” sheds light on the lives of an Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, who entangled with a young student who holds a dangerous secret. Things spiral out of control, under mysterious circumstances.

7) "Black Widow" — May 1

The movie will show Scarlett Johansson's rise from spy to the superhero "Black Widow" and her journeys between the movies "Captain America: Civil War" and "Avengers: Infinity War." The movie also stars David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz.

8) "The Personal History of David Copperfield" — May 8

This movie is based on the popular Victorian-era novel by Charles Dickens and revolves around the life and adventures of David Copperfield as he transitions from being a little boy to adulthood. Dev Patel essays the titular character alongside Tilda Swinton, Peter Capaldi, and Hugh Laurie. The biographical comedy/drama sees its first release in the UK on January 24.

9) "Woman in the Window" — May 15

The lead character, the child psychologist Dr. Anna Fox suffers from agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder that prevents her from leaving her house. The condition, however, leads her to keep tabs on her neighbors' daily schedule, which eventually helps her connect the dots in a brutal crime. The movie also stars Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Brian Tyree Henry, and Anthony Mackie.

10) "Artemis Fowl" — May 29

The popular children's fantasy series finally finds a screen adaptation. The plot revolves 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl and his bodyguard as they etch out a plan to rescue his criminal dad from powerful underground fairies. The cast features Ferdia Shaw, Judi Dench, Josh Gad, Nonso Anozie, and Hong Chau in the lead.

11) "Soul" — June 19

Joe Gardner, a middle-school music teacher harbors dreams of playing at the legendary New York jazz club Blue Note. The movie promises to take you on a journey inwards.

12) "Free Guy" — July 3

Ryan Reynolds plays the lead in this action-comedy that revolves about a bank teller named Guy is upset about always getting robbed. Yet, in no time, Reynolds discovers that he plays a nonplayable character in a video game called "Free City," which is about to go offline.

13) "Jungle Cruise" — July 24

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a 1930s riverboat captain who is out on a rather crucial mission. He voyages out into the jungle with a scientist (Emily Blunt) to find the Tree of Life, which is believed to possess healing powers. What unfolds? Jack Whitehall, Paul Giamatti, Édgar Ramírez, and Jesse Plemons also play significant roles in the movie.

14) "The One and Only Ivan" — August 14

The storyline focuses on a gorilla named Ivan, who attempts to escape from captivity with the help of an elephant named Stella. What unfolds in the pursuit promises to be jaw-dropping. The cast includes Bryan Cranston, Ariana Greenblatt, Indira Varma, and Ramon Rodriguez, while the voice cast includes Sam Rockwell, Brooklynn Prince, Angelina Jolie, Danny DeVito, and Helen Mirren.

15) "The King's Man" — September 18

As per credible sources, Fox will be dropping the third and final "Kingsman" movie, which features Taron Egerton and Colin Firth returning as dynamic duo Eggsy and Harry Hart. The movie was earlier slated for a release on February 14, but undisclosed elements led to the movie release being pushed to September.
