After three attacks on women were reported in two days in Berkshire, a 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
Two women in their 20s and a teenage girl reported being touched over their clothes by a boy in South Hill Park in Bracknell, Berkshire, on July 5 and 6, reported BBC. The boy allegedly groped his victims in the attacks in broad daylight. Following an investigation a boy has been arrested on "suspicion of sexual assault," said a spokesman for Thames Valley Police on Wednesday.
The spokesperson shared that the 13-year-old boy from Bracknell "remains in police custody at this time," reported The Sun. The spokesperson said that the boy's arrest was in relation to sexual assaults that happened in the park in Bracknell earlier this month. The person added that during the attacks, a "teenage girl and two women aged in their 20s, were assaulted over their clothing in three separate incidents."
Before the statement, the same spokesman appealed for the public's help in catching the attacker. He said that around 10.50 p.m on Tuesday, a "male touched the victim, a woman in her 20s, inappropriately over her clothing in South Hill Park." He added that the following day, around 7.30 a.m, a male cyclist touched another victim, also a "woman in her 20s, inappropriately over her clothing on a footpath that runs behind South Hill Park towards Village Hotel."
He also shared that around 8.20 a.m, a male touched a "third victim, a girl in her teens, inappropriately over her clothing in South Hill Park," and the attacker was described as a "white boy."
Daily Mail reported that inspector Elton Evans, who is based at Bracknell police station, said that they take "violence against woman and girls extremely seriously." He shared that they are committed to "preventing harm and bringing offenders to justice." He also informed that they have increased their patrols around "South Hill Park as a result."
Before the teen was arrested, Evans appealed to anybody who witnessed the attacks or anybody who had any information about "them or the suspect to please get in touch with us." He said that the cops believed the attacker was the "same person for all three incidents."
