A Minnesota boy was arrested and a school campus locked down Wednesday afternoon after the boy allegedly phoned-in a fake threat to the school. Scott County Sheriff Kevin Studnicka told the Associated Press that a boy later identified as a 12-year-old made a cell phone call to police from inside a school building in New Prague, Minn., claiming that a shooter with an AK-47 was loose in the school and had already a number of victims.
Reports said Police Chief Mark Vosejpka and his deputies later confirmed no one at the school was hurt. The boy allegedly made the call around 8 a.m. Wednesday and students were later ushered to a nearby church for safety. School Superintendent Larry Kauzlarich said a student was expelled two months ago for phoning in a bomb threat in the same school district. The town is approximately 45 minutes outside Minneapolis.
