The 66th Primetime Emmys will be airing live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Monday, August 25 at 8pm E.T. on NBC, and we can’t wait to celebrate this past year of television which has been amazing. This year, the award show is taking place a month earlier than usual in the intent to not interfere with the NFL schedule and is expected to be, “the most social interactive awards in the history of award shows.” Host for the evening, Seth Meyers has been releasing back stage footage on his “Late Night” show and all over his social media for fans to get excited. Audiences will allegedly get a full access pass through social media which includes rehearsals, backstage and the red carpet.
While we’re looking forward to the whole show, some things have high expectations and this is why we wouldn’t miss it for the world! 1. The Latin Fashionistas: Sofia Vergara, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana are only a few of the stars we’re super excited to see on the red carpet. Who will they wear? 2. First Time Host: We’ll get to see Seth Meyers hosting abilities even though he’s said that there will be no singing ion his behalf. 3. Show Opener: Who doesn’t love a good, hilarious mashup of all your favorite TV shows? We do. 4. The Speeches: Most of the nominees are small and big screen veterans and their speeches just keep getting better each year. 5. Breaking Bad: Die-hard fans, it’s your favorite-series-of-all-time’s last chance to snatch every award in its last hoorah at the Emmys. This is Aaron Paul’s last chance!
6. The Newbies: While we do love our TV veterans, it will be refreshing to see what the newcomers take home the golden statues. They also tell us which shows we need to start watching if we’re not already. 7. The Robin Williams Tribute: We’re sure there won’t be a dry eye in the room (or anywhere), when Billy Crystal performs a tribute for his friend and fellow actor. 8. Sharable Moments: Every show has its share of highlights but we can’t wait to see if there’ll be a group selfie, a musical act or a wardrobe malfunction (sorry!) 9. The Dates: as expectant as we are of the fashion on the red carpet, we’re always very interested to see who celebrities bring as their date. After all, appearing on the red carpet together is the all-time, “Facebook official” in Hollywood. And last but not least, 10. The Performances: As we mentioned, host Seth Meyers will not be doing any singing tonight, but he did hint at possible musical performances at the show when he said, “I’m leaving that to others.” Who will it be? All in all, it looks like the 66th Primetime Emmys will be full of surprises from start to finish. What are you most excited about?
