Yelp has temporarily disabled new reviews for the Pennsylvania McDonald's that Donald Trump visited on a campaign stop, after it received an influx of politically charged comments.

The Feasterville McDonald's gained national attention when former President Trump staged a photo-op while working the fryer and handing bags of food to drive-thu guests, prompting a wave of reviews both critical and humorous, The Independent reported.

Some reviewers criticized the franchise for hosting Trump, while others took jabs at him directly.

"Fire that smelly old man cursing at the fryer! Employees seemed extremely angry and confused like he didn't even really know where he was. I think I smelled s***," a one-star reviewer said.

Another angry patron said, "You don't deserve to have a franchise the McDonald's corporation should end its business relationship with you immediately. There is terrible customer service. The fries were not even done as the fryer wasn't up to temperature. The atmosphere was creepy with a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist behind the counter. Yuk."

Not all reviews were as critical though. One patron added, "Loved the no salt fries - You worked longer at Mcdonald's than Kambula [Kamala] ever did."

Another wrote, "Service is always top notch here. I'd like to highlight the new senior hire. He was so pleasant and genuinely looked happy to work there. I'm definitely coming back."

As a result of the reviews that primarily revolved around Trump's past and character rather than the actual restaurant, Yelp enacted an "unusual activity alert" and refrained users from posting new comments.

"While we don't take a stand one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we've temporarily disabled the posting of content to this page as we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual consumer experiences rather than the recent events," Yelp told users.

Meanwhile, the owner of the franchise, Derek Giacomantonio, defended the decision to host Trump, emphasizing his commitment to welcoming all community members.

"As a small, independent business owner, it is a fundamental value of my organization that we proudly open our doors to everyone who visits the Feasterville community," Giacomantonio told CNBC. "That's why I accepted former President Trump's request to observe the transformative working experience that 1 in 8 Americans have had: a job at McDonald's."

McDonald's has clarified that it does not endorse any political candidates.
