Over the weekend Amazon listed the next generation Xbox One release date as November 27 which is the day before Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend. And as it turns out the release date was a false. According to IGN Microsoft released a statement debunking the date given by Amazon's website.

"We have not informed our retail partners about a specific launch date for the Xbox One. It is commonplace for retailers to put placeholders dates and prices into our system until they are given a specific date and price. We are excited to release the Xbox One in November 2013."

Now to look back on it the Amazon release date had too much weird mojo surrounding it. First, the PS4 is rumored to be releasing November 13 and it would be odd for Microsoft to go live two whole weeks after their biggest competitor.

Secondly, it is a Wednesday which would be odd for the US and lastly "Call of Duty: Ghosts" comes out on November 5 and one would "think" Xbox One would come out alongside it.

But keeping in mind Microsoft's statement November 27 could possibly end up the official release date for the next-gen console. But with Battlefield 4 releasing in October, and Call of Duty and Watch Dogs arriving earlier in November, Microsoft would lose out on significant sales momentum by missing those games' dates.
