According to multiple reports Guatemalan actor Oscar Isaac has signed a deal to play the big bad in 20th Century Fox's upcoming superhero flick "X-Men: Apocalypse." Isaac will step into the shoes of Apocalypse who is the most powerful mutant ever and the most menacing foe the X-Men have ever faced. And from the looks of Isaac he will have to beef up as Apocalypse is ripped!
The film will be directed by Bryan Singer with Simon Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris writing the script. Singer and Lauren Shuler Donner are producing with Kinberg and Hutch Parker. Emma Watts and Daria Cercek will oversee for the studio. Production begins early next year.
According to Variety Singer has revealed that this latest X-Men film will see the return all cast members including Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy, as the most destructive movie in the franchise.
“‘Apocalypse’ will have more of the mass destruction that ‘X-Men’ films, to date, have not relied upon,” he recently said. “There’s definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle.”
This is a pretty big year for Isaac as he is to appear in A24's "A Most Violent Year" opposite Jessica Chastain December. He is also set to appear in Disney's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will release May 27, 2016.
