Each and every year, the X Games draw fans from all across the world as they look forward to seeing the best talents in the world of action sports

This year's Summer X Games are being held in Barcelona, Spain and in what is expected to be another action-packed and intense battle of wits, willpower and overall skill, there will be many enticing events fans at the event and watching from home will not want to miss.

WHEN AND WHERE TO WATCH

The games begin on Thursday, May 16th and last until Sunday, May 19th. Coverage will be provided by ESPN television and the ABC network. Live on-line coverage will be available through ESPN3.com and for free at WatchESPN. Check local listings for various event start times throughout the 4-day event.

POPULAR EVENTS AND PARTICIPANTS

Following a major change to format last season, the Skateboard Vert Final will contain just eight competitors in this year's event. With the first slate of competition focusing on lip tricks, the event will spill into a full run of tricks followed by participants performing their best talents.

The Men's skateboard Vert Final will be available Thursday night between 7 and 10pm, EDT on both ESPN television and WatchESPN. Popular figures Pierre-Luc Gagnon and defending champion Bucky Lasek are expected to compete at a high level in the event. Gagnon is a 6-time champion in the Vert and he will undoubtedly draw tons of attention from the Barcelona crowd throughout the contest.

On Friday, May 17th, the BMX Vert Final will begin at 12pm, EDT. This event has become extremely popular over the years and for good reason. James Bestwick enters the Barcelona X Games as the definite favorite to win another BMX Vert title.

The 41-year-old veteran has been an avid participant in professional riding since 1982 and as he enters this year's Games, he'll look to bring home his eighth Vert championship. An eighth title at this event would also be the eighth-consecutive crown for the English superstar.

Travis Pastrana's name continues to grow in the world of action sports and this year's games at Barcelona should only help expand the individual brand Pastrana has built for himself over the years.

When Sunday's Rally Cross final gets underway around 10:00am, EDT on ESPN, Pastrana will certainly be among the favorites to win the title. Failing to pick up another gold medal last year, Pastrana will look to build on his tremendous success at the X Games.

Currently a four-time Rally America Drivers champions, the 29-year-old has won an eye-popping 10 gold medals in his X Games career and he'll surely have a better than good chance to win No. 11 over the weekend.

With the 2013 Summer X Games underway in Barcelona, Spain, fans of action sports will be glue to their televisions and computers as the event dominates their interests over the next 4 days.
