When we think Nutella we think a treat made by God to make the human race feel better on crappy days, on tough mornings, on days when you don’t feel as pretty, on times when you don’t feel loved enough, and pretty much to make the whole world better. Of course, something so important in everyone’s lives should have its own day, right? Well, turns out, today, February 5, is World Nutella Day. It is a day to celebrate the delicious chocolaty hazelnut spread, to eat it and of course, to get creative with it. So here are 5 ways that Nutella can improve different foods!
Hot Cocoa: It’s winter and temperatures are dropping as snow storms threaten many states (especially the Northeast). You just wanna take that snow day, cuddle up and binge on Netflix. So what better way to do so than with a delicious hot chocolate made with Nutella? Check this recipe by The Hungry Housewife that is to die for and it includes a little extra: Nutella infused whipped cream. You’re welcome.
Pancakes: Let’s be honest, we’ve all used the Nutella as the pancake syrup and added the real syrup on top. Sometimes I even added a scoop of vanilla ice cream because I have a chef complex and anything you make “a la mode” sounds fancy. However, this recipe from Munchkin Munchies knocked my socks off. Nutella (in the middle) pancakes are pretty much a Nutella sandwich but with pancake batter. Smooth and delicious, you don’t need the syrup or even extra butter!
Brownies: Think of yummy and fudgy brownies made with chocolate and… Nutella! My palate just exploded thinking about them. Lucky for you, I found the best recipe at Buns In My Oven. These decadent brownies will sure make you look like a real pastry chef and of course, will be way better than your usual box brownies. It’s important to advise you that the Nutella will give these a burst of chocolate fudginess, however, if you’re all about the hazelnut flavor, you might want to try also using the Nutella as frosting!
Crepes: A nice and fancy-sounding dessert that will have everyone satisfied! Now, add Nutella and banana slices, and you’ve won the crowd. Sweet And Savory Tooth has a great recipe on how to make this delicious treat from scratch. It’s perfect for the upcoming Valentine’s Day, and maybe you can even substitute the bananas for strawberries and add a little whipped cream on top. Your Valentine will love it!
Pizza: We all love a good ol’ pizza slice. But imagine that pizza was actually sweet, and instead of tomato sauce it had Nutella, and instead of cheese, you used marshmallows. Are you with me? Thistlewood Farms has a super easy recipe to make this very creative pizza reinvention. And we have a little extra something to make it even more amazing: add little Oreo pieces. Wink wink!
Now you’re perfect to celebrate World Nutella Day with easy creations using our favorite spread. Try them out and let us know which one was your favorite!
