Mexico will play a crucial game today at the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Recife, Brazil. El Tri does not have their pass to the knockout stage just yet and will need to tie or win the match against Croatia to survive the group stage. The Mexican soccer team has shown a great level of team work on the field and out a great game against Brazil in their last outing. They will need to show determination and attitude to go on to the next phase and we thought a little music could help to cheer them on for a victory. RBD, the music pop group phenomenon, that spawned from the "Rebelde" telenovela launched into stardom its six protagonists: Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christopher Uckermann, Christian Chávez and Alfonso Herrera. During their brief stint as a group they launched an anthem in support of their home country called "México, México." The tune is a perfect mix of rhythms in Mexican music with catchphrases that a true Mexican fan would know. Sorry no "puto" in the lyrics, but you will recognize other words. See the music video down below!
Way before RBD, there was a children's musical group called Timbiriche. Its lineup included Paulina Rubio, Sasha Sokol, Mariana Garza, Alix Bauer, Benny Ibarra and Diego Schoening. The tykes sang about the colors of Mexico's flag, the eagle that is the heart of it and the location of their country, they even sing about the spelling of México, with the accent on the "e." It's a classic song that everybody knows and it's perfect to send good vibes to Memo Ochoa and help him make another majestic performance. Talking about Memo Ochoa, did you know at one point he was linked to RBD's redhead, Dulce María? That only made her singing to Mexico that much more interesting. Back on track, RBD and Timbiriche united their voices for a special renditión of "México" in the "Buscando A La Nueva Banda Timbiriche" talent show. Watch the epic union of two generations down below!
