Following a 3-0 victory over Turkey, Team USA's women's volleyball team will go against the Dominican Republic despite the unknown injury status of their captain.

Team USA's Captain Lindsey Berg injured her ankle during Sunday's game against Turkey. Berg is a three-time Olympian and part of the national team since 2003.

"Thank you everyone for your concerns & support...I am fine & will be taking one day at a day ... love my team," tweeted Berg on Monday.

Further details of Berg's status is unknown and will unlikely be released before the Dominican Republic match.

"She just felt something pop, so we don't really know too much more than that," said USA Coach Hugh McCutcheon, who considered the Dominican team to be tough and physical.

If Berg does not start today's game, the Courtney Thompson will take her spot. Thompson helped the US team win the bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games, coincidentally it was against the Dominican Republic.

"This team has earned the right to be proud and confident," McCutcheon said. "Regardless of what happens from here on they can hold their heads high."

The Dominican Republic has lost three of five previous games, winning against Algeria and host of the 2012 London Olympics, Great Britain.

The winner to today's match will advance to the semifinals, and face the winner of the Italy vs. South Korea matchup.

According to bookies, the favorite to win the overall women's volleyball tournament is too close to call between Brazil and Team USA.

Team USA has never won a gold medal in indoor volleyball, previously winning silver at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics as Brazil took the gold.

The game will be shown live on NBC at 2 p.m. EDT, and streamed live on NBCOlympics.com.
