Ray Lin Howard, a native of Fairbanks, Alaska, posted on TikTok about being taken off a flight because she was "big, tattooed, and mixed-race." According to the 33-year-old, she was removed off the plane because her "stomach was showing" while seated.
Lin Howard's video has received over 1.3 million views since she posted it on TikTok under the handle @fattrophywife.
On September 3, the plus-size fashionista recounted her Alaska Airlines flight experience. She also shared the TikTok on her Instagram account.
A flight attendant allegedly harassed Ray Lin Howard for her outfit when she boarded the plane wearing biker shorts and a crop top. Lin Howard was escorted through the airport by airport police officers.
She said in a video posted online:
"I was harassed about my outfit — I put my shirt back on. They asked me to put my shirt back on. [So] I put my shirt back on, and then, they approached me again, saying that I can't wear this, my stomach is showing — and it's inappropriate."
After flight attendants demanded that Ray Lin Howard cover herself up, the TikToker said that she did so by wearing a leopard print shirt, but it was insufficient.
She also claimed to be wearing a sports bra underneath, which she was able to demonstrate. However, as flight officials reached her for the third time, airport authorities found their way back to her.
Ray Lin Howard told the airport officials: "If you're going to kick me off, kick me off. I've done what you asked me to do. I want you to leave me alone."
The musician begged the authorities to let her go since she had a gig to perform. Ray Lin Howard, however, was not permitted to board the flight again.
Howard stated in her TikTok video that she believed she was being discriminated against because she was a fat, tattooed, mixed-race lady, which left her feeling angry, disappointed, helpless, humiliated, and confused.
Ray Lin Howard recorded a second TikTok video in which he reflected on the situation, The New York Post said. She stated she had to deal with fatphobia throughout her life as a fat person, especially growing up in the Midwest, but not to this extent.
"Throughout my life as a fat person, I've had to deal with fatphobia, especially growing up in the Midwest — but not to this degree."
This isn't the first time the airline has been publicly chastised on the internet. Sportskeeda said Sierra Steadman, a TikToker, accused the group of bullying her over her clothing a month ago.
The flight attendants were irritated because the teenager was wearing a crop top and shorts while flying.
