A woman from West Calder, West Lothian Scotland shared a harrowing incident that she suffered when she was only 17-years-old in 2019.
Jordana Rutherford was beaten by her ex-boyfriend at the time and knocked her unconscious following an argument. At the time, Rutherford had an argument with her ex-partner, William Weir, about another girl.
Rutherford says that she saw Weir kiss another girl he was with at a concert that they attended together, the Daily Record reported.
"I actually watched him kiss someone else right in front of me. He was so drunk and being really disrespectful,” she said. "I left on my own and headed back to the hotel. A wee while later he came back too. After me telling him I didn't want to be with him anymore he got so aggressive.”
At some point, things got out of hand with Weir alleging beating her to a pulp, eventually knocking her unconscious.
"He knocked me out. I don't know what else he did to me when I was unconscious, but when I woke up I was covered in blood and in agony,” Rutherford narrated. "I was so scared. The police and paramedics were there, but he was nowhere to be seen. He had fled before they arrived apparently."
In the aftermath of the incident, the now-20-year-old woman reveals how it left a massive scar on her head. It has now become a reminder to her about the unfortunate incident which she admits almost pushed her to take her own life.
"The situation itself was horrible, but mentally and physically I'm still damaged. I still have nightmares about what happened in that room,” Rutherford quipped.
Weir was eventually found guilty following a two-day trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court of Jordana's injury and permanent disfigurement.
Weir was told to do 200 hours of unpaid work as well as fork out £1,000 compensation.
