Micah and Diam, who had been rushing to the hospital after Diam went into labor, realized that their baby was going to be born before they reached the hospital, and pulled into the parking lot of the Polk County Sheriff's Office's Southwest District Office.
Sgt. Timothy Lynch saw the vehicle parked in the lot and began to approach the couple.
"As he approached it, Diam turned to him holding a brand new, itty-bitty baby girl," said the Sheriff's office in a statement.
The Polk County Fire Rescue was called to assist with transporting the couple and their newborn daughter to the hospital. A deputy tended to the mother and baby while the sergeant obtained handmade quilts for them.
After the couple and baby were taken to the hospital, they were visited by deputies from the Southwest District, including newborn essentials, a $100 gift card, and a talking Sheriff Grady Judd doll.
