A woman reportedly got gang-raped by three men inside a hotel room in Adarsh Nagar, northwest Delhi, India on Sunday, Oct. 9.
The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was reportedly invited to a hotel room in Adarsh Nagar, Delhi, by her friend Ajay, 39, on Sunday, Oct. 9. When the victim reached the hotel room, she realized that Ajay's two other friends, Tara Chand, 34, and Naresh, 38, were also present there, NDTV reported.
At the hotel room, the victim was reportedly offered a cold drink. However, the cold drink was spiked and the victim became unconscious soon after drinking it. After the woman became unconscious, the trio took their turns and allegedly raped the woman.
Following the incident, based on the victim's statement and medico-legal case (MLC) report, a case was registered against the three accused under sections 376 D (gangrape), 377 (unnatural offenses), and 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offense) of the Indian Penal Code at Adarsh Nagar police station, the Times Of India reported.
The police officers launched an investigation into the incident and arrested the three accused. A crime team collected samples from the hotel and further investigation is underway.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a 19-year-old woman was reportedly heinously assaulted and gang raped by three young men after a birthday party in Modi Nagar town Ghaziabad, India on Sunday, Aug. 14, as previously reported.
The unnamed 19-year-old victim reportedly attended a birthday party on Sunday, Aug. 14, when things took a tragic turn. At the party, a man allegedly served her a drink laced with sedatives. As she began losing consciousness, the suspect reportedly took her to a room and called his friends to join him. The three accused men, identified only as Shekhar, Krishna, and Arjun then took turns raping the drugged young victim.
After the ordeal, the trio abandoned the woman in the room and quickly fled the scene together.
Following this, on Monday, Aug. 15, the victim along with her father went to the Modi Nagar Police Station and lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the three accused men.
Following this, an inquiry was launched into the assault, and all three accused were arrested.
