A woman who reportedly fell from her boyfriend's car was struck and killed by a second vehicle in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday, Sept. 25.
The 46-year-old victim, whose identity has not been revealed, was reportedly trying to get into the rear passenger seat of her boyfriend's Jeep Cherokee in the St. John’s Place and Rochester Avenue of Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. However, her 48-year-old boyfriend didn’t realize that his girlfriend was trying to get into the car and drove away, New York Post reported.
This caused the woman to lose her balance and fall backwards onto the street at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, Sept. 25. The woman, who fell on the road, was then struck by a black SUV that came behind her and was traveling on St. Johns Place. However, after hitting the victim, the SUV driver failed to stop, continued driving, and fled the scene.
Following the accident, the woman was immediately taken to Kings County Hospital for treatment, where she was subsequently declared dead, Fox News reported.
The police have launched an investigation in connection with the incident and are continuing to look for the driver of the SUV that struck her. Meanwhile, no suspect or vehicle features have been released in connection with the accident.
