Woman Facing Lawsuit After Subjecting Soon-To-Be Fiancé To 3-Hour Simulated Childbirth That Killed His Intestine Tissue

A woman in China is facing a lawsuit and canceled wedding after she subjected her soon-to-be fiancé to three hours of simulated childbirth that killed his intestine tissue and required emergency surgery.

The woman, who shared her experience on RedNote, a Chinese social media app, took the man to a maternity care facility run by her sister to allow him to experience the "pain of childbirth" and determine whether he would be a considerate husband, the China Times reported.

"My boyfriend started to feel miserable from level 8, and couldn't help cursing by level 10," the woman wrote in an app post, according to Town Flex. "At level 12, he was sweating and breathing rapidly due to the severe pain. By the end of the experience, he was completely exhausted and his stomach was as hard as a board."

A week later, after experiencing continuous abdominal pain, the man was taken to the hospital where doctors discovered he was suffering from necrosis in his small intestine, a potentially fatal condition in which intestine tissue dies due to reduced blood flow. He was scheduled for an emergency resection surgery and survived, as reported by the China Times.

When his family found out about the incident, they banned the woman from the hospital and called off the wedding. He and his family also plan to sue her. If the woman is found guilty, she will have to pay compensation and faces up to three years in prison.
