A woman reportedly divorced her husband because he told her to "shush" while she was giving birth.
The shocking revelation was made on the Facebook group "That’s it, I’m MF Spouse Shaming," which has over 23,000 members, where countless Facebook users share their personal experiences about the various reasons they ended their relationships.
The group members seemingly started sharing their relationship history on the group after a woman member posted a viral tweet from a man. In the tweet, the man stated that he realized he was no longer in love with his ex after he let her carry heavy boxes up the stairs without offering to help her, Daily Record reported.
The post prompted many women to talk about how their relationships ended. Among these confessions, one woman explained how she ended her marriage after her husband told her to "shush" while she was in labor.
"When he told me to shush during labor. I had a sudden flash of clarity and I knew I would be raising this baby alone because I deserved better," she wrote.
"Still took me a year to get to the breakup, but I never forgot that moment of certainty," she added.
Several other people also shared similar experiences regarding their divorce.
One person said that she ended her marriage after finding out that her husband was sleeping with her best friend of 25 years, the Mirror reported.
"That was the day my marriage ended," the woman wrote.
Meanwhile, one person wrote that she decided to divorce her husband after finding out that he had an affair with his step-sister.
"I knew it was over when he let me walk home for 30 minutes from the train station at 10.30 pm and not come get me (the drive takes five minutes) because he didn’t feel like it," another woman wrote.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a Saudi woman reportedly demanded a divorce after finding out that her husband was bald just two days after their wedding in Abu Dhabi, Latin Times reported.
The husband reportedly concealed his baldness from his wife during and before their engagement by wearing a ghutra, a traditional Saudi cotton headdress. However, a few days after their marriage, the woman saw her husband without the headdress and realized that he was bald.
“I feel embarrassed in front of my friends and relatives and I have concerns that my children could be prone to baldness. It is difficult for me to live with him anymore,” she said.
The couple reportedly got married only two days before the lawsuit was filed.
The husband’s lawyer said that it is the strangest divorce case that he had ever seen. He added that a woman has the right to request for their marriage to be annulled if she discovers a persistent defect in her husband that was concealed from her at the time of their engagement.
