A woman reportedly chopped off her husband's genitals with a sharp object before stabbing him to death in Jajpur, Odisha, India on Friday, Oct. 7.
The accused, identified as Kuni Champia, 33, reportedly engaged in a heated argument with her husband Raju Champia, 39, on Friday, Oct. 7. After the argument, when the victim went to sleep, the accused, in a fit of rage, chopped off his genitals and killed him with a sharp weapon. After killing her husband, she dumped the body and the chopped genitals in an isolated place and fled from the scene, the Times Of India reported.
The incident reportedly came to light after some local villagers found the victim's body with multiple injury marks lying in an isolated place near Rungurunga canal on Saturday, Oct. 8 morning. Following the discovery, the locals then immediately informed the Sukinda police station about the incident.
Following this, a police team responded to the scene and seized the body. The officers also found the victim's chopped genitals lying near the body, NDTV reported.
Following the gruesome murder, the family members of the deceased lodged a complaint with the Sukinda police station alleging that Raju was killed by his wife Kuni.
In his complaint lodged at the police station, the deceased's younger brother, Jayiram Champia, said that Raju married Kuni after his first wife left him three years ago.
After marrying Kani, Raju was staying at his in-law's house with his wife Kuni in Karadagadia village. However, on Friday, Oct. 7, Raju came to his native Pubola village with his wife.
"On Friday night the accused picked up a quarrel with my brother over some domestic issue. The quarrel continued till late at night and later my brother went to sleep. The accused then chopped off his genitals and killed him with a sharp weapon. She dumped the body and the chopped genitals in an isolated place and fled from the scene," said Jayiram in his complaint.
According to Sukinda Police station Inspector in Charge Kabuli Charan Barik, the police have started an investigation into the incident and they have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.
