Marion Bartoli didn't drop a set in her run to the 2013 Wimbledon Final.

Matched up against a rising star in Germany's Sabine Lisicki for the championship, the tournament's No. 15 seed probably expected to be tested a little more in this match than in her 6 previous tournament matches.

Disposing of rising American star Sloane Stephens in the quarterfinals and then thrashing Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens 6-1, 6-2 in the semi's, Bartoli entered the championship as the most dominant player in the field.

Sabine Lisicki's road to the final proved to be slightly more taxing as the No. 23 seed in the field needed to take down some of the best player's in professional tennis. Though she defeated Kaia Kanepi in the quarterfinals and No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska in a three-set thriller to advance to Saturday's title, the 23-year-old's most impressive victory came over the top player in the world in the fourth round.

Ending her dominant 34-match win streak, Lisicki took down Serena Williams in three-set fashion, propelling her to a strong Wimbledon run. Lisicki took the opening set 6-2 and after dropping the second frame 1-6, the 2011 Wimbledon semifinalist dropped the first 3 games in the third set.

Never panicking and never losing her focus, Lisicki came from behind to win 6 of the next 7 games, disposing of Williams in the third 6-4.

Despite her continued success in 2013, Sabine Lisicki couldn't match the level of No. 15 Marion Bartoli in the final.

Bartoli - the 2007 Wimbledon runner-up - took the opening set 6-1. Fighting off a strong comeback by her opponent in the second set, the 28-year-old closed out the frame in 6-4 fashion to claim her first Grand Slam championship.

The 6-1, 6-4 championship victory capped off a magnificent tournament appearance for the Le Puy-en-Velay, France native. In 7 total matches, the latest member of the Major Championship club never dropped a set, completing one of the finest runs in Wimbledon Championship history.

"I dreamed about this moment for so long and I missed it in 2007 so I know how it feels," Bartoli said graciously to her opponent after the victory regarding Bartoli's losing the 2007 title to Venus Williams.

Capping off an extremely entertaining tournament with her first major title, Marion Bartoli will certainly be in title conversations for the foreseeable future. The same can be said for 23-year-old runner-up Sabine Lisicki.
