William Levy is paving his road to Hollywood and starring in the Tyler Perry directed film, "The Single Moms Club." The flick which is also written and stars Perry revolves around a group of single mothers that form a bond after they all meet at their children's school. The cast includes Nia Long, Amy Smart, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Zulay Henao, Terry Crews, Eddie Cibrian and many more. This will mark William's first major film in the U.S. Up next for the actor is the Billie Woodruf directed film "Addicted," which is slated to open at the end of summer 2014 and is currently shooting, "The Veil."
William Levy is best known as the heartthrob in Mexican telenovelas like "Cuidado Con El Ángel" and "Triunfo del Amor" which he co-starred with Maite Perroni. He recently concluded production of "La Tampestad" where he played a ship captain and co-starred with former Miss Universe, Ximena Navarrete. The soap was not well received and ratings were not favorable even though it had an attractive main cast. Initial feedback for Levy was negative as he was forced to wear hair extensions as he was portraying a rugged man. During the filming of the melodrama Levy made no secret that this would be his last effort in the small-screen as he had his eyes set in Hollywood.
Prior to "La Tempestad" the Cuban-born actor was part of the "Dancing With The Stars" Season 14 cast where he came in third place, being bested by singer Katherine Jenkins and NFL player Donald Driver, with the latter winning the competition. Levy also had a story arc in the sitcom "Single Ladies" in 2012. Before joining the ABC reality show it was reported that Levy turned down a role in Steven Soderbergh's "Magic Mike." Rumor has it that William wanted to be perceived as a serious actor and not as a sex symbol as he became known in Latin America. The thespian missed a great opportunity with "Magic Mike" later becoming a hit. In eather case, William is paving the road to Hollywood with "The Single Moms Club."
